February 2018: Vincent Stanley
February 2018: Vincent Stanley
Invaluable lessons on creativity and leadership from the inspiring author who was one of Patagonia’s founding employees.
Vincent Stanley, co-author with Yvon Chouinard of The Responsible Company, spent many of his years at Patagonia - on & off since it's beginning in 1973 - working in key executive roles as head of sales or marketing. More informally, he is Patagonia’s long-time chief storyteller.
In this class, you’ll join a community of learners in uncovering the simple secrets to Vincent’s success as a creative and a team leader. From the importance of killing your inner editor and taming your ego to the benefits of leading from the back and applying soft influence.
This class is perfect for anyone seeking a balance between creativity and leadership.

Class Details & Benefits
Four weeks of readings, activities, and exercises.
An in-depth conversation with Vincent Stanley serves as the foundation for this class. In our conversation, we uncovered Vincent's writing habits, his team leadership style, and his secret for making time feel elastic. This conversation will be divided into four thematic chapters and delivered weekly to your email inbox (along with other suggested readings).
Each class includes three group activities: 1) All participants are encouraged to discuss weekly readings & exercises with their assigned class partner; 2) All participants are encouraged to join a Slack channel where class material can be explored; 3) The class is encouraged to participate in a Question & Answer session - hosted on Slack - with Vincent.
Leadership exercises inspired by Vincent Stanley's approach to leadership & creativity are assigned weekly. Exercises can be completed individually and discussed with your partner. The goal is to synthesize Vincent's advice into a micro-practice that you can attempt, practice, and eventually adopt.
Ongoing community, career & learning support.
Class participants are invited to join the Bleeker Network - a diverse ecosystem of incredible humans in pursuit of mastery, purpose, and impact. The Network is comprised of 400+ financiers, founders, athletes, artists and everything in between. We facilitate personal connections between members seeking advice or exploration. We host regular in-person events for Network members.
Bleeker makes it as easy as possible for the professionals who comprise our Network to connect with the opportunities that excite them. When founders, friends and business owners engage Bleeker to identify talent for their open roles, the Network learns about these opportunities first.
Participants receive one year of access to the Bleeker Playbook (a $600 value), our learning toolbox hosting fifty lessons, 100+ exercises, white papers, and expert interviews.
